So you know how some people play fantasy sports? I play fantasy casting. When I hear about upcoming films or revivals that I know the source material for, I try to cast the movie.
I'm pretty good at it. I pegged most of the cast of Inkheart (Paul Bethany was so a given) and Heath Ledger in the dark knight as well. When I audition I sometimes think of who will get the roles from the people I see. I got Peter and Wendy last year from that.

So day I was hearing about a potential movie remake of Guys and Dolls. Which is needed, if done correctly of course. The movie is great with Frank Sinatra as Nathan but as much as I love Marlon Brando...no. The man can't sing.

Here is my dream cast of Guys and Dolls:

Hugh Jackman as Nathan Detroit.
I know he wants to play Sky but he'd be so brilliant as Nathan. If he plays Sky there is no one to play Nathan.
He can sing, he can dance. Really it's a no brainer.

Runner Up: Robert Downey Jr. - Not really his usual style of music but I think with a little work he could pull it off.

Jane Krakowski as Miss. Adelaide
She's already played the role in the West End fantastically. She's been in numerous shows on broadway. I can't think of a better person. Paired up with Hugh Jackman, imagine how fantastic Sue Me would be. I can also believe that they have been engaged for 13 years.
Need more proof?
Jane singing Bushel and a Peck in the 2005 West End production

Runner Up: Kristin Chenoweth - How hillarious would that be. Imagine Sue Me with the 6"2 Hugh Jackman and 4"11 Kristin. Brilliant.

Ewan McGregor as Sky Masterson
Along with Jane, Ewan was in the brilliant 2005 West End Revival. If Hugh had to give up the part to anyone let it be him. I can not stress how fantastic he was in the revival. I wish he did more musicals.
I'm not one to promote bootleg videos, but this is the only video of him singing from Guys and Dolls I can find. (Please pay close attention to the Bflat at the end of the song - prefect)(Sorry for the crap quality)
Ewan McGregor - Luck Be a Lady

Runner Up - Matt Damon? I'm not sure on this one other than Ewan or Hugh. Maybe with some intense vocal training Matt could do it.

Anne Hathaway as Sarah Brown
I think she would be fantastic as Sarah. I had been racking my brain forever trying to think of someone. Sarah is a really hard role to sing, the score goes all over the place for her. From If I Were A Bell to I've Never Been in Love Before to Marry the Man Today Sarah has a lot to do. Paired with Ewan as Sky I think they would be fantastic. The previouisly mentioned I've Never Been in Love Before - gorgous.

Runner Up - I really can't think of anyone with name enough to play the role. Any suggestions?

I'm not sure on Arvide Abernathy. Jeff Bridges reciently played him at the Hollywood Bowl. He wasn't the greatest but I think he'd do well. Donald Sutherland would do well as well. Does he have to be an older man? If we've going for a slightly younger cast, could someone like Alan Cummings or Stanley Tucci play the role?

As for the gansters. I'd love to see some broadway stars do cameos. Gavin Creel and Neil Patrick Harris for example. Nicely Nicely will take some thinking though. You need someone who can really belt it out for Sit Down Your Rocking the Boat

What do you think?

Maybe I'll do a couple of others. Any suggestions?
