Sorry for not updating in awhile.
Nothing much has gone on really.
Warning: Extremely long ramble coming....I'm still waiting to start my job.......still.
I was hired the day after grad and still haven't started.
-_-
Since I started writing this last night I've actually called my manager and asked what was going on. She had been busy all week and forgot to call. I start next week.
:D
I'm starting to get organised for school in the fall. I'm still freaking out a bit...okay a lot but I'm hoping that will get better.
One of the main sources of my insanity is my seemingly impossible scedule.
Not only do I have classes I have manatory crew hours as well. Wednesday and Thursday from 6pm until 10. Fridays from 11:30am until 5pm and Saturdays from 9:30am until 6:30. Now I've been told that I won't have to do every single day for all hours, it varies depending on what crew you are on and how close to an opening night you are.
I'm also suppose to be doing a musical starting September 2nd called Throughly Modern Millie. Rehersals for that are every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Meaning I barely have time to get to rehearsal on Monday, and conflicts on Wednesday and Saturday.
Then I have my job as well. I'm not sure when I'm suppose to do that.
I really really love Millie. It's one of my favourite musical and I would love to play Millie one day down the line. Along with that one of my friends is in the show with me, we're both ensamble. She was in Into The Woods with me and I would love to do another show with her.
I'm still trying to decide whether to drop Millie or not. I know I probably have to but I really don't want to.
Is it worth doing if I'm going to be going insane trying to do everything?
I've also decided something. I'm still not convinced I made the right choice in deciding not to audition for Sheridan. Therefore, I'm going to audition for Sheridan this year, just for the fun of it to see if I can get in. If I feel that York isn't a good fit by the time I find out about Sheridan, I consider transfering.
Soooo...enough with my insane worry ramble. I've actually done some fun things in the last week or two.
(I apoligise for my lack of verbs)
On Thursday and Saturday this week I got to go downtown and watch WatersEdge Productions' production of bare: a pop opera. It was the Canadian Premire of the musical and it was fantasic.
My only interaction with this show has been threw the offical recording and maybe some footage on youtube that shall remain nameless.
I love the recording, it has a fantasic cast led by Matt Doyle (Spring Awakening, Bye Bye Birdie) and James Snyder (Crybaby). The strength of this recording is sooo strong that I didn't listen to the album for at least a week before seeing the Toronto production so I wouldn't be influanced by it.
I was blown away by the talent the Toronto cast had. Both Peter (Wade Muir) and Jason (Graham Parkhurst) were perfectly cast, with "Bare", "Once Upon a Time", "Role of a Lifetime", "See Me" and "Cross" being some of the high points for me.
Nichola Lawrence as Sister Chantelle brought down the house in every number she was in. She brought the humour where it was need and also brought the sincerity and tendorness when dealing with Peter. Her scene with Peter brought me to tears in it's honesty and sincerity.
Alison O’Neill as Ivy was also one of the best in my opinion. Ivy's a difficult role to pull of and she did it wonderfully. Ivy's so horrible in the beginning of the play that there's a chance that the audience won't feel for her come the second act. Alison was able to do that, she was able to make her feel....human for lack of a better word.

I believe that there wasn't a weak link in the cast. The only problem I saw was the sound system. It's an older student run theatre on the U of T campus and the system wasn't the best. The balence was off at time and there were times when the whole company was singing that I thought the speakers were going to blow, particularly during "No Voice"(which was fantasic by the way).
I hope bare with make a return to Toronto soon. It's such a fantasic show and more people need to see it. I wish all the cast luck and I know they all have bright futures.
A clip of the Toronto Cast rehearsing "Wedding Bells" and "One". (minus Alison O'Neill as Ivy)
That's all for now. Hopefully something interesting will happen soon.
