Long time no see...

*Picture and Video heavy*

So back in January I said I was going to write in this blog as much as I could....fail.
But now I'm back...and maybe blogging will stick this time.

So much has happened since January.

1. As of today, I am no longer a high school student. My last exam, Religion was today. We'll see if I did well.

2. In the Fall I will be attending York University for Theatre Studies. Yes I got in. Nothing short of a miracle I think. I'm still waiting for them to say that they made a mistake.

3. I actually only got involved in one show this spring. I never thought Into The Woods would take up so much of my time. It was so rewarding to do though. Our director was CRAMAZING! I learned so much in such a short time and it was great to do a show with all of my friends. Everyone loved the show, even the naysayers. By the end of the run we were completely sold out.People who have never showed an interest in musicals before were coming to me asking about the show and were there any other shows like it.
Totally worth it...

4. Prom is next week. Even though I'm totally not a party/dancing person. I'm starting to look forward to it. I trusted my aunt to get my dress and she came through more than I could imagine. I love my dress. She ended up getting everything..right down to the makeup. My friend Francine...who's awesome by the way.... and I are going to meet at her house and go from there and then I'm staying at her house after. We'll then go to exam review day the next day...who decided that was a good idea? The theme this year is New York...i know so original. They had the grade 12's vote on a theme...I wanted Alice in Wonderland. Oh well.

This is my dress..it's actually a little darker in person

5. bare: a pop opera is having it's Canadian Premire next month here in Toronto. I'm so excited! I love the recording with Matt Doyle and James Snyder. The music is amazing. I can't wait.

6. The MMVA's are Sunday! yay! me and a couple of friends are going down to watch. Unfortunately The Jonas Brothers are hosting so it will be a mess of screaming 12 year olds. I can't stand the Jonas Brothers. They annoy me so much. We could get wristbands for obvious reasons, but we're going to stand on the opposite side of the street. Should be fun.

7. Hair won the Tony!! I desperately want to see this. I was sad Gavin Creel didn't win, but their preformance was the best of the night. Even with the spectacularly bad sound.
Here it is in all it's hippy glory! (Gavin's the first person to sing)

8. Spring Awakening Tour hit Toronto in April. I have loved this show since I saw it on TV two years ago and finally being able to see it...it was amazing. The cast as fantastic both times I saw it. Once with Matt Doyle as Melchior and once with Kyle Riabko as Melchior. I was lucky to get seats really close both times and loved it. The cast was really nice the both times I went to the stage door willing to take pictures and sign playbills. Though I didn't get a picture with everyone, I got autographs from all of them. Elora...another awesome person...when the week before me and got the whole cast to sign a souviner program for my 18th birthday. A lot of them took the time to write Happy Birthday on it as well. Matt Doyle spelt my name right! The only person I missed the first time going was Blake Bashoff (of Lost fame) who is stunning as Mortiz. The best Mortiz in my opinion. I did get to meet him the second time though. He was so nice and understanding to a completly star-struck 18 year old (me). He loved that my Sharpie was purple and sang some of purple summer under his breath while signing. The only thing I was sad about was that I didn't get a picture with him, as it was only me the second time. The two Matts and Steffi D were also incredibly nice as well. I had about a 5 minute conversation with Steffi about their last day in Canada.

That's about it for now. Hopefully I'll be better at updating this more often
