The end of an era and the beginning of a new one....

Alternatively called...one crazy week.

MMVA's
Last time on the blog I said that I was going to the MMVA's or Much Music Video Awards.
Now you have to understand...I'm a theatre kid. I've never been to a concert in my life. So the MMVA's were a huge culture shock for me. I had a ton of fun with my friends and watching all the performances but it was kinda like I was thrown into a pool without my water wings.
I also have mild claustrophobia. Though it's more a fear of crowds and of personal space than claustrophobia because I'm fine with small spaces. Just people standing or being to close to me. It's usually only with people I don't know very well, but sometimes it effects people I am close with.

I was so glad to have my friends there who had a ton of concert experience and were able to guide me through it. Even though I was scared for my life for some of it.

We got down there at around 12:30. Even though the show didn't start until 9:00 that night there were already a ton of people around. Especially Jonas Brother fan girls.
We got to see all of the rehearsals before hand. Every group did their performance once and than was it. Except for the Jonas Brothers they must have gone 16 times, all the same song.

It was ridiculously hot. I think it was around 30 Celsius that day. Though sunscreen was used I have a wicked sunburn all over my shoulders and chest area.

The Red Carpet was insane. We were in a fairly good spot. There was some confusion so we missed out on some of the best spots, but we ended up seeing nearly everyone.
The crowd wasn't that bad until Taylor Launter from Twilight showed up and then it got insane! I thought I going to die.

That's just after Taylor showed up.

Then we attempted to join the masses for the actual award show part. We didn't get anywhere near the stage but we still saw some of the show through Emilio's camera.

After Lady Gaga preformed we decided to start making our way toward the GO station....apparently everyone else had the same idea. I was so sure I had crush injuries from everyone pushing. I was near tears.
Everything was instantly made better by Emilio. A lady pushed her way between me and Emilio, (who I was holding on to for dear life mind you) nearly choking him, with a PLASTIC LAWN CHAIR! After getting out of the crowd Emilio turned to her and started screaming "WHY THE F@#K DID YOU BRING A CHAIR?!?!" to which she replied "It's not the chair, it's everybody pushing" and Emilio yelled at her some more.
It completely pushed me out of the panic attack that I felt coming on that I trying desperately to stop.
So Emilio if you're reading this, thank you soooo much for that.

PROM
After that exaushing day, came prom. Now I've told you how much I hate crowds and closeness....understandably I hate dances. I've had a fear of them even since the 6th grade. I've really awkward at social situations (yes, i know. Not the best for someone going into theatre, but I'm working on it. I'm a lot better than i use to be) and dancing that hasn't been choreographed well in advance is a no no.
That said. I had a ton of fun. I actually didn't look like a complete mess, though i look insane in pictures.

Trying to look like Audrey Hepburn
The food was okay, I didn't like the main course, but I liked the rest of it.
I was actually voted "Most Likely to be Famous" at prom. It was voted on by my classmates, so that was nice.
I did dance a little. Not very well, but I tried. The DJ didn't play very good music and it was way to loud so a couple of people including me were getting sick from the constant pounding.
We found a wardrobe at one point and attempted to find Narnia. No such luck.

Nope...no Aslan....

After prom I went to Francine's house and watched Nick and Nora's Infinite Playlist....though we both fell asleep half way through.

GRAD
Graduation was Thursday night. Earlier in the day was the Grad Mass and Breakfast. It was during the mass that I had my first choir solo ever. It wasn't bad, but I sounded like a 5 year old. The breakfast was okay. I'm not a big breakfast person but I ate some of it. It was also nice to see that the school cares. I'm allergic to latex (hahaha...yes i know why that's funny..get it out of your system)and the principle and vice-principle came to talk to me because the event staff didn't know and had used balloons as decoration. They moved all the balloons to the side and were willing to remove them if i asked. They also made sure the servers were wearing non-latex gloves and told me that I couldn't have the muffins because they had been cut up by people wearing not latex gloves.

Grad itself was fun. The hat was annoying as all hell but other than that. The ceremony was short and sweet, just what it should be and I actually ended up getting some awards. I ended up an Ontario Scholar (basically honour roll), Honours in both Instrumental and Vocal, a certificate for Music participation and the Lt. Governor's Award for Volunteer Hours (I ended up with 508 hours of community service - Girl Guides, what can I say). There was also cake...

Me and my awards...

REPORT CARD DAY
The official last day of school. Though all there was to do was pick up my report card. I didn't get to stay as long as I wanted because I had a job interview (more on that later)but I got to see one of my favourite teachers a last time. It's kinda sad that my career as a high school student is over but I know a lot is in store next year and that I can always visit next year and see all my friends still in the school and some of my teachers, who are now my friends.

NEXT TIME: job interviews and summer plans....
